1. I8U - friday

"the source material for this track came from a recording i made of the fountain in front of the chateau frontenac in quebec city. loops, like the flow of water, are perpetually mutable."

3. luc doebereiner - symic

"it follows the simple formal method of building-up and tearing-down.

it doesn't layer, merges and dismantle.

it comes out of itself."

4. [sic] - the bells of beaconsfield

"'the bells of beaconsfield' is a song made from the sounds of mom and pop morris' colorful collection of bells from all the classy places they've been. you see, the morris' love to travel. they love motels, buffets, 'rocky top', moon pie, mini-put, jumping beans, and, of course, bells. they just love them.

the bells recorded for this piece were purchased in new orleans, myrtle beach, charleston, orlando, and santa fe. as pops morris was a longtime railroad man, there are also several brass bells from various rail sources. the morris' recently acquired a new porcelain bell from the grand canyon in arizona. it is almost as hideous as the rest of the collection. but not quite.

this song was orchestrated then re/deconstructed by [sic] featuring mom morris on porcelain bells, pops Morris on brass bells and [sic] morris on liquid codeine."

5. mvk - transductions

"an exercise in transductivity. transductions connect non-related spheres, and sustain a contingent stability between them. fluctuating demarcations of interior and exterior of the individual sequences operate as transductive elements as the piece unfolds. created june / july 2004."

6. tigrics - wien soundcheck dub

"this (improvised) track was recorded (to a minidisc, which got stolen a few weeks later) at the fluc in wien, on the afternoon of april 21st 2003, the last date of the keplar records tour we did with the italian band called mui.

i used my mixing desk, a nord micro and a delay box to make audio signal feedback loops and gates, about 3 stolen samples (and some of my own) through a granular script, and a solid midi clock from an mmt8. the people in the bar were enjoying their early afternoon coffee, one of them was looking at me nodding with his head at the rhythm, i guess he was wondering what the hell i'm into. i was playing my sick tired soul out loud, while checking the p.a.. mastered in july 2004 in budapest."
